LETTER TO MY DAUGHTER - FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL AFTER QUARANTINE

Zoe’ Outfit : Pippa and Julie Alice in Wonderland dress , Pediped mary-janes Last week Zoe resumed her school, four months after the lockdown started. Getting to the decision of having her go back to school was a tough one. I’ve had many sleepless nights going over so many questions, reading numerous articles, talking to a lot of parents, even our doctor. Never in our wildest ideas had we thought that we would be in such a situation, where the entire world would be riddled with such a situation. Lockdown, quarantine, social distancing – these were words we had never encountered. And here we are, as parents taking decisions about whether your child should go to school or remain for another session at home. What about meeting so many people. Will kids wear masks? And how would office and house work be managed. Do online session even work for kids at this age ( less than 3 year olds ). And how do you keep a toddler away from their friends. How do you meet friends b...

MY BABY YOU'LL ALWAYS BE

Letter to my daughter – Motherhood Diary

THE NIGHTS AND DAYS MIGHT SEEM LONG, BUT THE YEARS ARE SHORT

The drives are long, when you cry in the car seat But the years are short, soon you’ll be at the wheel not needing to hold my hand in the car, The days are long, when work is piling and you are being clingy But the years are short, and you’ll soon be typing away your own, The kitchen is messy and cooking is hard when you want to be held But the years are short and you’ll be rushing away from the dinner table to be with your friends, The nights are long when you refuse to sleep and want to be rocked But the years are short and you won’t need my lullabies anymore, The times are tough when you are sick and it hurts so much to see you in pain But the years are short, so let me not complain For you’ll grow up soon and will fly away. Let me hold on these hugs Let me take away your pain Cook and work with you on my lap Rock you all night, Till you feel like yourself again

Letter to my Daughter on my first Mother's Day

My sweetest, dearest Zoe – It is my first Mother’s Day! Everyone has been asking me what are we going to do today, how is your addy going to make it special for mumma, what will Zoe give mumma, will I be spoiling myself by going for a massage or getting manicure done, will I be sleeping in late? But you know what Zoe, I don’t want to go for a massage or get up late. I really really look forward to you waking us up in the morning and me bringing you in our bed so we can play and scream and make noises. So you can tap addy on his face while he tries to get a few minutes of extra sleep. I want to start today and everyday in the same way … with all the cuddles. I don’t want your addy to give me anything special or make me breakfast this morning. What your addy does for your mumma, for us , everyday is in itself the most special thing. He treats mumma like it is mother’s day every single day. He doesn’t have to do something just today, because he the...

Happy Half Birthday, my baby girl

Zoe, you are six months old! I am constantly in awe of how you are growing into this beautiful girl. My tiny munchkin, who fit in her addy’s arms is now got our entire world wrapped around her little finger. You are curious, always reaching out to touch people’s faces. You naughty little girl, you have started imitating us. Pretend coughing is something you do to grab our attention. And when mumma coughs back, you cough louder. You think your feet or the shoes on them are your toys and are always putting them in your mouth. You have a sweet tooth like your mumma… oh how you love licking nutella, peanut butter or cake frosting off mumma’s fingers. You love bananas and lentils but carrots, not so much. You love your baths and had so much fun, the first time we went in the pool. You addy is waiting to open our backyard pool so we can all have some splash time in the summers. You love people around you, always smiling at everyone. You clap your hands when we sing, w...

A letter to my daughter

My dearest baby girl Zoe! You are two months old today! When they placed you on my chest for the first time, that moment – that memory is the most precious memory of my life. I have never known love so fierce, the way I feel for you and it deepens with every passing second. You are our blessing, a perfect gift from God. First we had each other, then we had you and now we have everything
