Lace Trim Sweaters & Blanket Scarves

p-LaceTrimmedSweater-Petite-OOTD-NehaGandhi1Some styles simply continue to remain favorites season after season, such as the lace trimmed sweaters & blanket scarves. I think they were made for lazy  girls( like me! ). When you don’t want to put too much thought into an outfit and yet have it look well-styled, these are pure winners!

Bulky, over-sized sweaters getting a feminine touch with a hint of lace peeping at the bottom – now that’s really brilliant. The lace trims make an outfit look really put-together, even though you are just throwing on a big bulky sweater. There’s actually another thing you could try – throw on your favorite knit over a slip ( or your nightgown ) and no one would ever know) ( don’t worry – I won’t tell! )LovePlayingDressup-LaceTrimmedSweater-Petite-OOTD-NehaGandhi

I love blanket scarves for the simple reason that they are as practical as their being stylish. When as many layers as possible is a welcome way of dressing up ( hello Boston winters!), having an accessory that lends warmth and can be styled multiple ways, is a winner in my accessories closet. LovePlayingDressup-plaid-scarf-yonisjackets-blanketScarf-Petite-OOTD-2 LovePlayingDressup-plaid-scarf-yonisjackets-blanketScarf-Petite-OOTD-3 LovePlayingDressup-plaid-scarf-yonisjackets-blanketScarf-Petite-OOTD-1

READING TIME WITH ZOE - OUR FAVORITE BOOKS ( AT 18 MONTHS )

When I was pregnant with Zoe, I would call my mom with questions about being pregnant, about her experience and stories about raising my brother and I,  and all the million questions that a pregnant/new mom would typically have. I specifically remember asking her how did I learn to love books so much? How did they imbibe the passion for reading in me. To which mom had said – you can’t teach your kid to be passionate about something but you give them the tools, encouragement and set an example.
