I know exactly what you are thinking… on one side your Instagram feed is flooded with spring inspired outfits and cherry blossoms and here I am posting fuzzy slippers and cozy fireplaces! But you have to know that we have been deprived of the snow and the brutal cold weather this year. How ironical! considering I always complain that I am not made for the Boston weather =)) So last week we headed way up north to Vermont with a few of our close friends to get our fix of whatever is left of the Northeast winter.
We booked a beautiful cabin in the town of Killington. The cabin was nestled between mountains and everything you would imagine a snow lodge to be! Rustic, cozy, a beautiful blazing fireplace inside and a porch with a view of the mountain outside. I am not going to lie, I desperately hoped for a little snow for the weekend. Well – snow it did not! But we did get some flurries. I’ll take that!

There was a small stream that ran by the house and gentle sound of flowing water is something I could easily get used to =)) With my schedule being so crazy usually, I really miss curling up and reading – so weekends like these are very welcome.

We pretty much ate and drank all weekend. I reveled in the luxury or Dolce Niente ( the beautiful art of doing nothing ) !
Spending an entire weekend with old friends, chatting away into nights that turn into morning, playing board games, screaming and fighting over hands of poker, even playing a game of dumb charades for old times sake is a wonderful tradition that we have created and one that I look forward to each year. These are the moments we treasure and the memories we make! I’ll drink to that =))
