Dining Room Reveal

Product details :

I am SO excited to finally share our dining room, that I had been working on (or rather … planning ) for almost three years. It  has been three years that we moved into our home and I just never got around to decorating this room. Until recently! I had a vision for what I wanted it to be, but pulling it together always took a back seat due to other things at hand or I just wasn’t finding the core pieces that would jumpstart the room’s setup.

The vibe that I wanted our dining room to exude, was that to be inviting! I wanted everyone – be it just us or our guests to want to look forward to sitting at the table for hours. Obviously comfort was important as much as style. So you can sense my excitement when we saw this dining set ( table & chairs )  The rustic look of the set is what I was sold at – or wait, may be it was the bench. Such a cool addition to the space. We recently had a lot of family come over and almost everyone – kids and adults – everyone wanted to get a space on the bench. It was like having a picnic =)) I also love that the table comes with a leaf option – thus making it expandable when needed.

We have used Raymour and Flanigan pieces in the past ( see the living room reveal here) , so we were pretty confident about their quality and commitment to service. Also recently, they started seven-day shipping – which made it so much easier instead of having to stay back home from work waiting for frontier pieces to be delivered on weekdays. The shipping guys are amazing at setting everything up when they come to deliver the furniture, so that takes out the headache of figuring stuff out to be assembled later.

I am also pretty obsessed with the bar cart. The gold goes well with the rustic pieces. It is like a party on wheels. We had a bulky oak bar previously but the fact that Amit was okay parting with that and swapping it with something more sleek and chic was a bonus.

Another thing that I found in the store for our dining space that got me super excited, was this vase with the prettiest flower arrangement! One thing you need to know about me is that I am not good at taking care of real flowers or plants and besides, I don’t like overloading the dining table with accent pieces. So this vase is just the right amount of decor on the table and complements the space well.

The room reveal wouldn’t be complete, if special mention isn’t given to my absolute favorite piece in the room. The rustic looking, delicate, crystal chandelier  that gives the room such a french inspired, regal touch!

Honestly speaking, Amit and I hardly ever ate dinner on our old dining table. It was an old one from my after college apartment days – glass top, black and white chairs – you get the idea! But ever since the new setup, dinners have been here rather consistently and neither of us misses eating in front of the TV. Now, that’s a BIG win! xo Neha

Martha's Vineyard Getaway

Things we took for granted earlier, we truly value them now. Like weekend getaways. A quick load of essentials, stuffed into a weekender and jetting off somewhere far, yet close. Exploring destinations close to the backyard. Those have always been my reprise after long continuous tiring weeks. Never giving much thought, spur of the moment plans, to discover something new or simply for dolce far niƩnte .
