Spring On My Mind

Outfit Details

While Spring is said to have officially arrived, New England is still witnessing the last remnants of snow and freezing rain showers. It might sound funny, but year after year – I pretty much have the same though hit me somewhere around mid-March : I am so over wearing winter clothes! You would think that after twelve years of living in Boston, I would eventually warm up ( no pun intended ) to this weather. No – this Indian girl has summer in her heart and prays for warm weather even in December! Although, the jackets and sweaters are here to stay for a few more days, there are a some spring trends that I am loving.

Gingham

I cannot think of any other style more synonymous with Spring other than gingham. It is such a classic! This dress from Brooks Brothers is so cute – I cant wait to wear it with a denim jacket or throw on a tweed one once it gets warm.

Basket Bags

Your Instagram feed is probably flooded with images of basket bags and you cannot blame them for hogging the limelight. Perfect for farmers market runs to carry flowers to taking them to the beach … they are extremely versatile. I have linked a few basket bags that are below $50 and $100 both. I got this one from Bloomingdale’s recently and absolutely adore Spice Things Up pom-pom tote !

Statement Sleeves

If you are anything like me, you might have been wearing your PJ tops underneath those bulky jackets at times. No judgement here – I’ve done that more times than I’d like to admit. Once the layers start coming off, you can actually show off those tops and the details of your pretty dresses. Statement sleeves are such a huge trend lately – quite the focal point of the outfit! Big billowy ones, ruffles , bell sleeves .. I want them all.

Slowly getting back in the groove

BOOKS I READ IN 2020

I did a run-through of all the books I read last year and guess what … the number is 27! I read 27 books last year. This makes me just so excited. I love coming across new ( for me ) authors or a new book by an author that I have loved reading in the post and am always looking for recommendations for my next read. Even though I barely read 15 minutes a day, I truly cherish that little window in my day.

Martha's Vineyard Getaway

Things we took for granted earlier, we truly value them now. Like weekend getaways. A quick load of essentials, stuffed into a weekender and jetting off somewhere far, yet close. Exploring destinations close to the backyard. Those have always been my reprise after long continuous tiring weeks. Never giving much thought, spur of the moment plans, to discover something new or simply for dolce far niƩnte .
