What to wear to the Office Holiday Party

This is truly the month for parties and playing dressup. Have your holiday parties already begun and I am assuming all your weekends from now until new years, are all blocked off =))

While dressing up during the holidays is so much fun with the umpteen styles and sales – there’s one party that requires a little bit of strategy as well! It’s the office holiday party. You want to show your festive side yet stay professional.

Few things to keep in mind, while picking out your office holiday party outfit :

• T’is not the place for sexy

Even if it’s the occasion where you are encouraged to let-loose – go the classy route! Nothing too revealing, sheer or tight. If you pick a dress or a skirt – choose something that hits the knee or below.

• Play safe with prints & texture

Trust me, you do not want to be the main topic of discussion at the water-cooler the next day ( for the wrong reasons ) – so stay away from leopard prints or shiny leather pants. Instead choose something sophisticated as lace, satin or dressy fabrics like this jacquered one. That’s why I love this lace dress, it is perfect for  the office party and otherwise as well, not to mention that fact that it is incredibly flattering.

• Statement piece

While it is cute to put on the shiny red nose or sport a sweater that lights up ( please don’t!! ),  let this party be where you bring out your new collar necklace or the in-trend tassel earrings. These can be quite some conversation starters with the office ladies.

• A little sparkle

This is after-all a holiday party and a little glitter & shimmer is always appropriate. I absolutely adore this gold scarf & these Adrianna Papell flats are just perfect, if you don’t want the spend the entire evening in heels.
